‘My dream is to see more athletes from Valley winning medals for India’

Srinagar, Jun 05 (KNO): After representing Jammu and Kashmir on international platforms, world champion powerlifter Fardeem Hussain is now training young athletes from the Valley to compete at national and international levels. Fardeem, who won multiple gold medals in world powerlifting championships and also served as Captain of Team India at the World Powerlifting Championship 2025, said his focus is now on mentoring aspiring athletes from the region. Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Hussain said Kashmir has immense talent in strength sports, but many youngsters lack proper guidance and training. “I want to help young athletes from Kashmir compete at bigger platforms and believe in their abilities,” he said. Widely regarded as one of the top powerlifters from India, Fardeem said he is actively coaching several youth and preparing them for upcoming competitions. “My dream is to see more athletes from Kashmir winning medals for India,” he added. His achievements and coaching efforts are being appreciated by sports lovers and fitness communities across the region. “Kashmir has huge talent. With proper support and hard work, our youth can compete with the best athletes in the world and bring more medals for the country,” Fardeem said—(KNO)
